1. Application and purpose

This Privacy Policy applies to the activities of Authenticateit Pty Ltd (ABN 30 155 162 253) (AIT) and is to inform you (Your/ Your) regarding the use of Your information which is collected during Your use of AIT’s smartphone application (App) on Your smartphone device (Device), as a distributor accessing AIT’s portal for distributors and on Your visit to AIT’s website.
The App is designed and built to empower customers and distributors with a fast and convenient way to check an item’s authenticity before purchase, or to trace and prevent instances of unauthorised distribution and retailing (Services).
AIT will not collect or monitor personal information about You without Your consent. The information AIT collect is what You tell AIT about Yourself and information about how You use AIT’s website, and the App and Services, such as what pages You visit on the AIT website, personal information You tell AIT about Yourself in creating an account (including Your phone number and street address) and using the App, Your IP address and location. Also, if You contact AIT, AIT may keep a record of that correspondence. AIT may also draw upon this information in order to adapt the Services to your needs, to research the effectiveness of AIT’s network and Services, and to develop new tools for the Sevices. Where possible, AIT endeavour to limit AIT collection of Your personal information. AIT asks that You update AIT if Your phone number or street address change.

2. Location data

You agree and consent to AIT use of Your location data where applicable. In addition, You consent and agree to AIT use of location data where Your device is used by a third party. When You use the App and the Service, AIT automatically receives and records information on its server logs from Your browser or mobile platform, including Your location, IP address, cookie information, and the page You requested. AIT treat this data as non-personal information, except where AIT are required to do otherwise under applicable law.
To best manage information such as location data, You may disable the tracking functionalities on Your Device, although the App and the Services will not operate to their full capacity.

3. Minors

The App is not aimed at children under 13 years old and AIT do not knowingly collect, use, provide or process in any other form any personal information of children under the age of 13 deliberately.

4. Using and disclosing Your personal information

AIT’s purpose in collecting information about You is to provide You with Services that You request and to operate AIT’s business efficiently.
The circumstances in which AIT may disclose information about You to another organisation are limited, but include:
• when required by law;
• for marketing purposes when You have given Your consent;
• to an organization that is an affiliate of AuthenticateIT Pty Ltd or a partner of AIT (including, for example, the manufacturer of the products you purchase and verify the authenticity of using the App, and their contractors involved in the manufacturing and supply chain process);
• when AIT believe it necessary to provide You with a service which You have requested, such as contacting You about Your use of the App;
• to protect AIT rights, property or personal safety or those of another customer or any member of the public; and
• in the event that the assets and operations of AIT’s business are transferred to another party as a going concern.

5. Service providers

Like many businesses, AIT use a range of service providers to help AIT maximise the quality and efficiency of AIT services and AIT business operations. This means that other individuals and organisations will sometimes have access to personal information held by AIT and may use it on AIT’s behalf. AIT require its service providers to respect the confidentiality of information that they handle on AIT’s behalf, and not to keep this information any longer than required for the performance of services to AIT or use it for unauthorised purposes.

6. AIT website privacy practices

AIT may sometimes use cookie technology to provide information and services to website visitors. Cookies are pieces of information that a website transfers to Your computer’s hard disk for record keeping purposes and are a necessary part of facilitating online transactions. Most web browsers are set to accept cookies. Cookies are useful to determine overall traffic patterns through AIT’s website.
If You do not wish to receive any cookies You may set Your browser to refuse cookies. This may mean You will not be able to take full advantage of the services on the AIT website.

7. International use

Please note that this site and information collected by AIT may be hosted on computer servers outside of your home country. Therefore, Your information may be processed and stored in a jurisdiction other than Your home country. As a result, depending on the applicable law, foreign governments, courts, or law enforcement or regulatory agencies may be able to obtain disclosure of your information through laws applicable in the relevant jurisdiction. Your use of this site or the App or Services or Your submission of any personal information to AIT will constitute Your consent to the transfer of your personal information outside of Your home country, which may provide for different data protection rules than in Your country.
However, this does not change any of AIT’s commitments to safeguard Your privacy and Your personal information.

8. You can request access to the information AIT keep about You

If at any time You want to know exactly what personal information AIT hold about You, You are welcome to request access to Your record. Please contact AIT as set out below. AIT will endeavour to make any personal information held by AIT about You available as soon as practicable following Your request.
If at any time You wish to change personal information that is inaccurate or out of date, please let AIT know and AIT will amend AIT records. If You wish to have Your personal information deleted, please let AIT know and AIT will take all reasonable steps to delete it unless AIT need to keep it for legal reasons.

9. Storage and security of Your personal information

AIT endeavour to take all reasonable steps to keep secure any information which AIT hold about You, and to keep this information accurate and up to date where possible.
Your information is stored on secure servers that are protected in controlled facilities. AIT require AIT employees and data processors to respect the confidentiality of any personal information held by AIT.

10. Links to other websites

AIT may provide links to websites outside of AIT’s website. These linked sites are not under AIT’s control, and AIT is not responsible for the conduct of companies linked to AIT’s website. Before disclosing Your personal information on any other website, AIT advise You to examine the terms and conditions of those websites including their privacy policy. AIT cannot except any responsibility for the way that third party sites, such as social networking sites, use or disclose Your personal information that You provide to them.

11. Password and login security

For the purposes of using AIT Services, You may be required to set up an account on the AIT website and You may be supplied with a user name and password. You are responsible for the security of Your password and log-in information. You must take responsibility to ensure the confidentiality of this information.

12. Future changes

AIT are committed to providing the best customer experience and will continue to evolve to meet AIT’s customer’s needs. Because of this, from time to time, AIT policies will be reviewed and may be revised. AIT reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time and notify You by posting an updated version of the policy on the AIT website. The amended Privacy Policy will apply whether or not AIT have given You specific notice of any change. AIT therefore recommend You check AIT’s Privacy Policy from time to time.

If AIT become aware of any ongoing concerns or problems concerning AIT privacy practices, AIT will take these issues seriously and work to address these concerns.
